There has been a huge amount of attention places on a site today. Because that site removed their surf timer.
Opinions going each way have said their part. Loud and clear.
Some people are huge fans others not so much. Breaking this down there is positives and negatives from pretty much all sides. Yes the idea of no surf timer is different.
I can’t remember the site off the top of my head but the icons appeared after the site loaded. That was the timer. (memory is going faster than I would like to admit)
Rate My Splash a traffic exchange with no timer. Its been around for about a year (02-25-2012) the idea was to have people vote on what they think about the webpage on a scale from one to ten. Then they can move on to the next site.
The Major difference this was the pretense of the system – no one took a classic traffic exchange and then removed the timer – Rate my splash was designed from day one not to have a timer and work in any traffic exchange.
Is having no timer new – no
Can removing the timer be innovation – no
Will some member feel screwed over cause what once took them 7 to 12 seconds to earn now can be earned in less than a second- Maybe
this Blog post was just for fun – and remind people how big the traffic exchange industry is if you don’t like something walk away and if you do, use it. But do some homework and make sure that the “new and innovative” it is actually that.
People trying to make changes good or bad have a tough uphill battle. Not everything I have ever done is New or innovative ( what!) but then again I never claimed I invented it or it was new innovative .
Competition is all around us I welcome the site that dropped their surf timer to the world of change but just as a thought you might just want to take care of the people that surfed when there was a timer.
And that is my traffic exchange 2 cents
Today is the days when 100’s of thousands of very unlucky turkeys find the dinner table.
but you also start reflecting on the year at this time. I will say this year has had some ups and downs.
I got connected better with some great people in this industry. I am very thankful for that.
I work online full time and have done so for a couple of years now. Again, very thankful for that too.
This business changes. But a lot of the people we know today will grow in this business or move on.
I am thankful for knowing them in the first place.
See business no matter the type and style, online or off, tangible goods or digital services. Well it’s a tough job and to be rewarded you have to work at it all the time.
Its funny cause aside from my family … I am the most thankful I got in the traffic exchange world. The challenges, the people, the friendships, and the ability to be a home business owner. I love making money online.
To everyone in the traffic exchange business, thank you. I am learning every day. And wouldn’t change a thing cause I am very thankful for what I have right now.

Traffic exchanges have been around for a while now. The concept is truly very simple you view mine I will view yours. There are some very important facts to face when marketing in a Traffic exchange no matter what kind. I have put together some very strong ideas to help guide your traffic exchange journey. A sort of do’s and Don’ts if you will*.
DO make or have made amazing graphically appealing splash pages for the rotation of a traffic exchange.
DO use banners whenever you can.
Don’t use a Traffic Exchange for a few days and say “it don’t work.”
Don’t use just one ad ( build 3 or 4 and see which ones preforms better.
DO Track everything – like it or not with out tracking how are you going to know its working at all.
Don’t use only one tracking service use 2 minimum
Don’t quit! the old phrase if at first you don’t succeed try try again ( add the word change it after succeed.)
DO change all the time some things work better than others but you will never know that if you don’t keep trying new things.
Don’t fake anything if you are a new site have fun with it and if you’re a small growing site be proud of that too.
Do talk to the members like humans ( nothing worse than being told I suck cause I don’t surf.)
Don’t forget to assign credits daily weekly and monthly.
Do buy credits from places that are working.
Don’t refer people to every program on the net.
Do refer people to programs that you are using or are upgraded in cause they work for you.
Don’t just blindly follow people.
Do listen to what people are talking about and have to say.
Don’t hide who you are people like the real thing not just the actors.
Do have conviction in what you are doing.
Don’t make the same mistakes over and over ( learn from them the first or second time)
Do fail or make mistakes.
Don’t blame others when you fail.
DO not forget you are hopefully trying to make some money online – Nothing wrong with that.
Don’t think that the other forms of marketing are any less important Banners, mailers, text ads, ect.
Do review what is working and what is not it helps you make amazing corrections to a solid game plan.
Don’t think for one second i don’t have a million more ….
* this is what works for me and serves me well your results and your efforts will vary from day to day and person to person.
above all that break something wreck something and destroy something cause its not only fun but the learning curve is great too.
I ask you add some do’s and Don’ts in the comments Section let the industry know what you have on your mind.
to comment you may need to login using twitter or Facebook cause im still haven’t moved the blog on to my own server.
Feeling under the weather
some days you just have to be sick and or under the weather. People get viruses like computers do.
The differences is the user feels the aches and pains of a stuffed up head or a runny nose but your computer well it just gets slower and slower.
The human body is an amazing cause it will fight off an infection even the ones it don’t know much about. Your computer will some time sit there and make you think nothing is wrong.
So here is a little bit of an idea or advice if and when you get a cold it might be time to take the computer in for a check up. Think of it as a dr. visit for your friend that helps you make some money online. Having an anti-virus program running is a lot like health insurance.
but enough with the analogies if you feeling under the weather or are sick. It might also me time to take the computer in for its check up too.
hope you all have a great week

What am I going to be when I grow up?
I was asked this question no less than one zillion times when growing up. The crazy thing is people stopped asking that when I hit 21 or so. I guess the question is why DID the older people in my family stop caring or did they think I was a waste of time ?
Well My original dream of working at MC Donald’s never came to light (I was 5) and I still wanted to be the long lost cousin of the Dukes from Hazard county …. (still do FYI )
I am seeing blogs are a lot like time capsules the info you place in them today will look strange in a year from now OR the exact opposite will happen and it could be more relevant today then back then.
Blog posts are here to help people see insights in to the person because no robot wrote this blog.
I have recently stumbled over blogs from People in the business. John Bell writes often and only recently have I started reading. Cathy White writes often too and the more I read from her the more I see her and I think a lot alike. I was even sent to Cheryl Biggs Blog too as an awesome first step to Traffic Exchanges. Ronald Fender‘s blog is also very solid where he asks the question Stickers vs Badges. But doing what is good for your business is the most important of all.
Don’t get me wrong Im going to change my views on some things the more I learn. The growing traffic exchange are some of the major players right now. Some are not large but are having a big impact on the business.
And this month I have has some major focus on Traffic G at an exchange I am upgraded in traffic g and would also recommend to other webmasters do too.
And that is My traffic Exchange 2 cents
Ps a special thank you to all who read comment and post blogs. This business grows because of you!
My name is James Dias I am a traffic exchange owner and I have a Show that we do every week Friday.
This week’s Show has some attitude … No not the kind you probably thinking but we will see…..
My goal is to chronicle my adventure being a traffic exchange owner and sharing with the business what I learn and see. I have been wrong and I don’t make all the perfect moves.
but the great part is you don’t have too.
Also Marcy and I have been working together for a JV in promoting Bweeble. So here is the offer if your still on the fence http://adone-tenevents.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/bweeblebribe.html
I also want to mention The cool surfing event we have going with a Richard and Patti
the two of them are good people and they are also busting their butt to get the sites seen.
When people work hard they get noticed – its pretty simple and Richard and Patti are growing te owners.
Tonight I’m am taking 3 stickers from The Dance and IT and changing them. Just for the heck of it and they will return to normal Monday once again. That will happen tonight 10 PST till Sunday 10pm PST
The Goal of traffic exchange still is to get results. Some owners do promos and others have stickers and so on. This is to make it more fun but members clicking on ads still make the Traffic Exchange industry shake and move.
the games and promos are fun but we all have to click and explore too that’s still the basic principal to this business so I do challenge you to join at least one new program from surf this weekend.
who knows you might just like it and it may be what your marketing was missing …..
And that is my traffic exchange two cents
I know NOT ANOTHER JV thing.
But this one is a true story. I have a JV with Marcy McManaway. You know the amazing woman from TE Surf Social and Cookie Jar Hits
here is the difference she is working her butt off. Working her side of the business and the mailers… and I am on my job over here with my side and writing this blog post too and building marketing materials.
Marcy and I are doing what I feel is a real JV. I spent some money she is working her fingers to the bone and we are working together. And are going to share the results. I like trust and respect Marcy to a huge degree that’s why I approached her for this little idea. I am all sorts of excited about this.
so here is how it looks both Myself and Marcy recommend Bweeble
and we are having fun with it too
I will follow up to this post in a few weeks or Marcy will….. and let you know how we did
And that is My Traffic…err Mailer two cents,
